Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Jul 10, 2008 by Janice Francis-Smith
The Policy Board for Oklahoma's Economic Development Generating Excellence Fund will soon announce which research projects will move forward in the process to receive state funding.
In May, the board put out a request for pre-proposals from researchers seeking financial support from the fund. The invitation was extended to Oklahoma institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations and for-profit businesses conducting research projects that may boost the number of research jobs in the state.
By June 30, the board had received 94 submissions - far more than had been expected. In about two weeks, the board expects announce which applicants are invited to submit full proposals, said Rachel Waldrop of the EDGE fund.
