Allstate invests $176 million in Oklahoma municipal bonds

Allstate invested $175.6 million in municipal bonds in Oklahoma during 2007.

Allstate invested $25 billion of municipal bond investments nationwide.

"Municipal bonds finance the infrastructure of communities including affordable housing, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, sewers and roads," said Denis Bailey, Allstate southwest region field vice president. "Investing in municipal bonds aligns with Allstate's corporate philosophy to help strengthen communities while providing the company and its shareholders with stable returns on their investments."

The Allstate Foundation contributed $41,500 to charitable organizations in Oklahoma in 2007. The foundation also provided $13,500 to community organizations in Oklahoma to recognize employees, agents and personal financial representatives for commitments to community service with $500 grants to the organizations for which they volunteer.

Allstate has 188 exclusive agents and personal financial representatives and 131 employees in Oklahoma.
