Skirvin Hilton Hotel in OKC receives wine award
Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Aug 21, 2008
The Skirvin Hilton Hotel's Park Avenue Grill has received the 2008 Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists.
Featured in two categories in the Aug. 31 issue of Wine Spectator, the Park Avenue Grill was recognized for being one of only 11 restaurants in Oklahoma to receive the award and for being a newcomer to the competition.
"It's rare that a new restaurant receives this prestigious award after being in business only one year," said John Williams, general manager of the Skirvin.
Andrew Black, executive chef of the Park Avenue Grill, said the award was based on standards ranging from the types of wine provided, education of and service by the restaurant's wine captains and storage of wine.
