AARP to present 401(k) symposium in OKC

Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), Sep 30, 2008

AARP Oklahoma will be host for a free symposium to encourage employers to start automatic 401(k) enrollment for employees from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. A complimentary lunch will be served.

Reservations are being accepted by contacting Nancy Galloway at (405) 715-4477. The symposium is being endorsed by The State Chamber.

"Personal savings levels are at the lowest point in the United States since the Great Depression," AARP State President Bob Bristow said. "By encouraging employers to automatically enroll their employees in 401(k) programs you eliminate the major stumbling block for employees to begin saving for their retirement."

Eunice Khoury, host of the weekly radio program Well Preserved, will be moderator for a panel discussion. Kelley Coates-Carter, manager of issues agenda for AARP, will by the speaker.
