Commentary: Technology sprouts efficiency: Internet tools help

Journal Record, The (Oklahoma City), May 29, 2009 by Darren Currin

The most recent tool REIS has implemented is its valuation module, which allows users to publish an online financial analysis of a commercial property. This analysis tool gives users a 10-year project cash flow based upon assumptions the user inputs.

One of the most popular national analytical Web sites is Real Capital Analytics, which can be found at www.rcanalytics.com. Even though information on the Oklahoma commercial markets is limited because RCA tends to focus on the larger markets, the Web site still offers a wealth of information on national trends on almost every commercial property type.

Furthermore, RCA tracks larger commercial real estate transactions in almost every major market, including Oklahoma City and Tulsa, and, when possible, provides Internet links to the Web sites of buyers, sellers and brokerage companies that handle the deals.

Demographics and mapping

The popularity of the CCIM Site to do Business at www.stdb.com is not only growing in the Oklahoma commercial real estate industry, but the site has gained a strong national reputation for its detailed demographic reporting available for all types of commercial properties - retail, office, multifamily and industrial.

CCIM has been working during the past couple of years to improve the quality of its mapping as well as create a more user-friendly interface, making it easier for novice users to learn the intricacies of the Web site.
