McDonald named Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association chairman

Mike McDonald, co-owner of Triad Energy Inc. of Oklahoma City, has been named chairman of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association.
A native of Mississippi, McDonald received his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Mississippi and holds a master of laws degree in taxation from New York University.
McDonald will serve a two-year term and succeeds John Pilkington of Murifield Resources of Tulsa.
Other OIPA executive officers include Pat Cobb, Toklan Oil & Gas Corp., Tulsa, vice president east; Ronnie Irani, RKI Exploration and Production, Oklahoma City, vice president west; Mike Cross, Michael Cross Inc., Oklahoma City, treasurer; Richard Salamon, Salamon Ventures LLC, Tulsa, secretary; Jeff McDougall, JMA Energy Co., Oklahoma City, Wildcatter's Club president; and Philip Landers, Landers Oil and Gas Inc., Okemah, ambassador at large.
Plaster and Wald Consulting, an oil and natural gas production consulting company in Mustang, received the 2008 Partner Award from the OIPA. The Partner Award is presented annually to oil-field service companies and other businesses that have proven to be supporters of the Oklahoma oil and natural gas industry.
Plaster and Wald was recognized for its support of the association's Oilfield Services Fundraising Auction, the OIPA's largest single fundraising event.
Dewey Bartlett, president of Keener Oil and Gas Co. of Tulsa, was named Member of the Year. Bartlett was recognized by the OIPA for his efforts as the co-chairman of the association's Federal Issues Committee.
After graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Regis College in Denver in 1969, Bartlett received a master's of business administration degree in finance from Southern Methodist University in 1971. Bartlett worked for Halliburton Services and spent two years as a landman with Beard Oil Co. in the late 1970s. After joining Keener Oil Co. as a landman and co-managing partner in 1979, he became the managing partner in 1987.
State Senate President Pro Tempore Glenn Coffee, R-Oklahoma City, was named Legislator of the Year during the association's annual meeting.
