9,000 dogs expected at Cox Center in Oklahoma City

Approximately 9,000 dogs are expected at the Cox Business Services Convention Center for the Oklahoma City Summer Classic Dog Show, which opens Thursday and ends Sunday.

Organizers of the show expect more than 2,100 dogs to compete each day.

ESPN will tape the Saturday group and Best in Show competitions to air in the fall.

American Kennel Club recognized breeds will be competing in conformation, obedience and rally. FreeStyle dogs will perform at noon Saturday.

Dog Show hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Tickets are $7 for adults and $2 children under 12. Children under 3 get in for free. Discount coupons are available at Little Ceasar's locations.
