Salisbury University to host workshops on world trade

Salisbury University will host a series of workshops by the World Trade Center Institute offering an "Introduction to World Trade" from June 4-6.
The workshops are designed for businesses that are ready to grow and expand their customer base by seeking business opportunities outside of the United States.
On Tuesday, June 4, "Developing Your International Business Plan" runs from 8:30-11:30 a.m., and "Smoothing the Import Process: Customs Best Practices" goes from noon to 3 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 5, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. will be the workshop "Getting Paid for Your International Transactions," followed by "Successful Approaches to International Marketing" from noon to 3 p.m.
Workshops on Thursday, June 6 will be "Managing Export Operations," from 8:30-11:30 a.m., and "Legal Issues in World Trade," from noon-3:15 p.m.
All workshops will take place in Caruthers Hall, Room 112 on the Salisbury University campus.
The cost per workshop is $50 for World Trade Institute members and $75 for non-members. To attend all the workshops, the cost is $250 for WTI members and $375 for nonmembers. For more information or to register, call Katie Henderson at 410-543-6516 or visit www.salisbury.edu/community/sbdc.

Another workshop at Salisbury University this week will examine "How to Start and Manage Your Own Business."
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, a panel of six professionals will discuss constructing a business plan, marketing, banking requirements, insurance needs, record-keeping and legal issues. The workshop will be held in the Frederick Room of the university's Commons building.
