Home & Garden Television hires new vice president of development

Mary Ellen Iwata, a Discovery Communications senior executive and former employee of Maryland Public Television, has been hired by Knoxville, Tenn.-based Home & Garden Television as vice president of development, starting May 31. Iwata is vice president of development and special projects at Bethesda-based Discovery's The Learning Channel.
