Washington Gas Light Co. to provide low-income residents with rate

Washington Gas Light Co., a subsidiary of Washington-based WGL Holdings Inc., said it has been granted permission by the Maryland Public Service Commission for a Residential Essential Service pilot program, which will provide eligible, low-income Maryland residents with a discount on a portion of the natural gas they use for home heating.
Depending on the amount of natural gas a customer used this winter, the credit can be worth as much as $98.74.
