No sanctuary

Chesapeake Wildlife Sanctuary Inc., of Silver Spring, and its president, Dianne D. Pearce, yesterday was ordered by the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court to immediately cease and desist from any and all charitable solicitations, as defined in the Maryland Solicitations Act, until all annual reports and disclosure statements are filed. The Maryland Secretary of State's office filed a complaint in 2003 alleging repeated violations of the act by the organization. Under the order, Chesapeake must file complete annual financial reports for years 1997 thru 2002 and display a disclosure statement on all written requests to the public for money.

Finkelstein joins Celsion

Celsion Corp., of Columbia, announced yesterday its appointment of Anita J. Finkelstein as vice president and general counsel. Finkelstein, who is also a certified public accountant, was a partner in the corporate practice at Venable LLP, where she served as Celsion's primary outside counsel. She is a 1982 graduate of the Yale Law School. Celsion is a biotechnology company dedicated to the development and commercialization of treatment systems for cancer and other diseases using focused-heat energy, either administered alone or in combination with other therapeutic devices, heat-activated genes and heat-activated drugs.
