Baltimore-based Polk Audio undertakes voluntary recall of subwoofer

The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission said yesterday that audio speaker manufacturer Polk Audio Inc., of Baltimore, has undertaken a voluntary recall of its LSiW Powered Subwoofer, after receiving six reports of smoke coming from the units. The CPSC said about 670 subwoofers are affected. For information on obtaining a replacement or a refund, contact Polk at 800-377-7655.
