U. S. Senate passes $4,000 tuition tax credit for every year of

The U.S. Senate passed an amendment introduced by Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, D-Md., that provides families with a $4,000 tuition tax credit for every year of college. The tax credit, now included in the federal budget for the 2006 fiscal year, would provide help for everyone, from the first-time student attending a four-year college to a mid-career student attending a community college.
