Verizon Communications Inc. introduced VoiceWing, an Internet- based telephone service, available nationally in 167 area codes, including the 240, 301, 410 and 443 codes in Maryland. Customers can purchase 500 minutes of outgoing local and domestic long-distance for $19.95 a month, or choose an unlimited local and long-distance plan for $29.95 a month.
