Verizon Communications Inc. unveils new fiber-optic cable TV service

Verizon Communications Inc. unveiled its new fiber-optic cable TV service, called FiOS, in Howard County, and said it will begin taking customer orders immediately. First to receive the new service will be 11,000 residents in Clarksville, Columbia and Ellicott City. Verizon obtained a local video franchise in Howard County in January.
