> The Williams Co., of Tulsa, Okla., a natural gas producing and transportation company, said it filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to expand its Transco natural gas pipeline system to serve the Greater Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas. The expansion, costing about $73 million, involves building approximately 16.5 miles of new pipeline and replacing about 3.5 miles of pipe in several Virginia counties.
