Xcel Energy Inc. of Minneapolis selects Baltimore-based SunEdison

Xcel Energy Inc., of Minneapolis, an electricity and natural gas company servicing eight Western and Midwestern states, announced its selection of an affiliate of Baltimore-based SunEdison LLC, a solar energy service provider, to build, own and operate an eight- megawatt central solar power plant in South-central Colorado.
The power plant, the largest of its kind in the nation, will house two solar technologies, concentrating photovoltaic and advanced flat- plate solar panel units.
