Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.'s rates expected to rise
Daily Record, The (Baltimore), Feb 20, 2007 by Daily Record Staff
Maryland Public Service Commission increased its estimated power costs that residential customers will see starting in June. In the area covered by Baltimore Gas & Electric Co., residential prices are expected to rise by 49.9 percent in June, as a state-mandated 15 percent cap on price increases expires.
The actual price of power has declined from last year, however. Small commercial customers of BGE will see their power costs decrease by 4.4 percent, according to the PSC. The revised estimates came as the state's utilities finished their power buys for the year.
