Md.-based Wise Metals Group LLC reports $13.3M net loss

Wise Metals Group LLC, of Linthicum Heights, which makes aluminum beverage can stock and rolled aluminum products, reported a fourth- quarter net loss of $13.3 million on revenue of $241.5 million, versus a net loss of $10.4 million on revenue of $227.5 million for the same period last year. Privately owned Wise does not disclose per-share earnings but releases its earnings because its debt is publicly traded.
The company attributed the loss to the negative impact of an accounting standard, as well as to the rising price of aluminum.
