Washington Gas Light Co. seeks rate boost

> Citing increased costs, Washington Gas Light Co. said it filed an application with the Maryland Public Service Commission to increase its natural gas rates. The proposed rates and charges will increase Washington Gas' overall annual Maryland revenues by $33.8 million, or 4.4 percent. The typical residential heating customer's gas bill would rise about 5.62 percent, or an average of about $5.70 per month, the company said.
