Hanger Orthopedic Group Inc. of Bethesda reports profit

Hanger Orthopedic Group Inc., of Bethesda, a provider of orthotic and prosthetic patient care services, reported second-quarter net income of $4.7 million, or 17 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $160.4 million, versus a net loss of $9.3 million, or 42 cents per diluted share, on revenue of $152.9 million for the year-ago period.
The company attributed the improved profit picture to stronger sales performance, as well as several acquisitions that strengthened its balance sheet.
