Hunt Valley-based RealLife HR acquired by Hewitt Associates Inc.

Hunt Valley-based RealLife HR has been acquired by Hewitt Associates Inc., a global human resources services company. RealLife HR helps companies oversee health and welfare benefits and has 35 clients, all with fewer than 15,000 employees and retirees. Hewitt, based in Lincolnshire, Ill., will assume responsibility for closely- held RealLife HR's staff of approximately 85 employees.

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close by the end of this week. Hewitt shares fell 13 cents to close Monday at $32.82 on the New York Stock Exchange. Its shares had fallen 28 percent this year through Aug. 24.
