New orders for Annapolis-based CompuDyne Corp.

CompuDyne Corp., of Annapolis, a provider of products and technology for the public security market, said it received new awards totaling $11.2 million during July. The company's Public Safety & Justice unit had $4.1 million in awards and renewals; Institutional Security Systems reported awards valued at $3.3 million; Attack Protection recorded $2.1 million in new awards; and Integrated Electronics Systems received awards valuated at $1.7 million.

CompuDyne, a publicly owned company that's stock trades on Nasdaq, announced early in August that it had agreed to be acquired by the Los Angeles-based Gores Group LLC and Stuart Mackiernan, an industry executive, for $59.1 million, or $7 a share. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the week.
