U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission honors Johns Hopkins

The Johns Hopkins Hospital and the Johns Hopkins Health System Corp. were among a handful of recipients selected by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission to receive a prestigious annual award for fair and equal employment practices. The Freedom to Compete Award showcases "the most innovative employer programs to promote fair and open competition in the 21st century workplace ...," said EEOC Chair Naomi C.
Earp at a ceremony Wednesday at the agency's Washington headquarters. Other winners were Atlanta's Emory Crawford Long Hospital; the city of Norfolk, Va.; Abilities Inc. of Albertson, N.Y.; and the Internal Revenue Service.
