W.L. Gore & Associates of Newark, Del., and Elkton makes equity

W.L. Gore & Associates, of Newark, Del., and Elkton, which makes Gore-Tex weatherproof apparel and other fluoropolymer products, including wiring and cables, sealants and filtration equipment, said it has made an equity investment in Quellan Inc., of Santa Clara, Calif., a provider of high-speed telecommunications equipment.
The amount was not disclosed. Gore said the two companies will work together to make more efficient interconnections for data centers In a related announcement, Quellan said it raised $20 million in a third round of funding in which the Gore company was one of the investors.
