IWIF Workers' Compensation Insurance of Towson to cut rates

IWIF Workers' Compensation Insurance, of Towson, announced a 5 percent overall reduction in base rates, largely driven by an approximate 10 percent decrease in claims frequency over the past two years. In addition, IWIF said 16 job classifications in five industries will receive "dramatic" rate cuts.
A spokeswoman said the industries are: independent schools; machine shops; furniture store floor sales; printing and related industries; and franchise new auto dealers. All of the cuts will take effect on Jan. 1, 2008.
