Political feuding may take toll on child care services at Fort
Daily Record, The (Baltimore), Dec 6, 2007
Wrangling in Congress over a war funding bill could have an indirect effect on child care services at Fort Detrick. Without a bill, the Defense Department could have to shift funds from other nonessential programs to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Fort Detrick programs that could be terminated include child care, after- school programs for teen-age dependents of service members and support for service members seeking educational opportunities.
Up to 43 civilian employees could be furloughed.
