Verizon Communications Inc. names William R. Roberts president of

Verizon Communications Inc. announced that William R. Roberts, president of Verizon Maryland, has been named president of Verizon Washington D.C. He will continue as president of the Maryland operation. He succeeds Anthony A. Lewis, who has been named a vice president at Verizon Wireless. Roberts will oversee the company's operations and financial matters in the District of Columbia and assume responsibility for Verizon's public policy, external affairs and regulatory matters in the District.
He will have offices in both Washington and Baltimore.
