Maryland law firms announce staffing changes: January 14, 2008

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP announced that 32 WTP attorneys have been selected among the 2008 Maryland Super Lawyers: Thomas C. Barbuti, Anne T. Brennan, Mary Claire Chesshire, Jonathan E. Ryan Jr., Catherine M. Steiner, Brent C. Strickland, Steven E. Tiller, Warren N. Weaver, William B. Whiteford, Larry M. Wolf (ret.), Robert M. Wright, and Thurman W. Zollicoffer Jr. Special recognition was given to Nussbaum who was named one of Maryland's Top 10 Lawyers by Super Lawyers. Nussbaum, Curran, McSherry and Ryan were named among Maryland's Top 50 Lawyers. McSherry was also listed among Maryland's Top 25 Women Lawyers.
Richard M. Zeidman has been named managing partner at the law firm of Linowes and Blocher LLP. Zeidman will be the sixth managing partner in the firm's 50-year history. He has practiced at Linowes and Blocher for the past 25 years. Over the course of his career, Zeidman has represented private developers, REITs and institutions in several billion dollars worth of acquisitions, financings and dispositions as well as in major public/private transactions. Adding to its national bankruptcy practice as the pace of corporate restructurings and workouts has taken a pronounced tick upward, Venable LLP announced that experienced bankruptcy lawyer Andrew J. Currie has joined the firm as a partner in the Baltimore office. Currie has a well-rounded background in business bankruptcy, including litigation, restructurings, out-of-court workouts and insolvencies. He has represented debtors as well as creditor committees (secured and unsecured), equity holders and lenders, and also buyers and sellers of assets both in and outside of bankruptcy. Currie serves as counsel for U.S. Office Products Company, the country's third-largest office supply business.
