Marylanders receive awards: February 29, 2008

Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, a renowned pediatric neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins Children's Center, recently received the 2008 Ford's Theatre Lincoln Medal. Carson is director of pediatric neurosurgery at Hopkins Children's, a position he has held since 1984. He also holds appointments in the departments of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. announced that four BGE employees received the Modern Day Technology Leadership Award, during the Black Engineer of the Year Awards Conference at the Baltimore Convention Center on Feb. 15. The employees were recognized for their professional and personal contributions to the fields of engineering, science and technology. BGE's award recipients were: Daryl Johnson, engineer and manager, project management; Ervin McDaniel, supervisor of customer reliability support; Rodney Oddoye, senior engineer; and Dawn White, engineer III.
