Rockville-based Neuralstem Inc.'s loss doubles

Neuralstem Inc., of Rockville, which is developing biotherapeutic products to treat central nervous system disorders with patented stem cell technology, reported financial results for the year ended Dec. 31, 2007. Revenue was $306,057 compared to $265,759 for 2006. The net loss in 2007 was $6.2 million, or 24 cents per share, compared to $3.1 million, or 13 cents per share, in 2006.

The company cited increases in research and development expenses, and administrative and general expenses, as among the reasons for the greater loss last year.
