Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. announces fluorescent light bulbs

Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. announced that more than 1 million compact fluorescent light bulbs have been sold at participating retailers as part of BGE's Smart Energy Savers Program. The company is promoting use of the CFL bulbs because they are more energy efficient than standard incandescent light bulbs, thereby saving consumers money while offering environmental benefits.
Also, BGE said Giant Food has become the third retailer to offer the CFL bulbs at a discounted price. Home Depot and Costco have been participating retailers since the program began in August.
