Ads aim to stem foreclosures

Maryland officials have launched an ad campaign to battle rising foreclosures. The multimedia advertising campaign, developed by Baltimore-based Mjach Designs, is intended to raise awareness about programs that are available in the state to provide help to homeowners who are struggling to pay their mortgages.

The campaign, which will cost about $400,000, includes two different signs that will be displayed on Maryland Transit Administration buses and light rail cars in the Baltimore area. Metro buses within Prince George's County will also carry the ads. In addition, postcards are being mailed to individuals in areas with high rates of foreclosure, and the campaign also includes radio and print advertising.
