Good Charlotte to headline AST Dew Tour in Baltimore

Daily Record, The (Baltimore), May 12, 2008 by Liz Farmer

Who says you can't go home? After touring all over the world for the past year, the Waldorf-based band Good Charlotte will be headlining the AST Dew Tour next month in Baltimore, tour officials announced Monday.

The alternative pop-punk band will play June 20, the second night of the Panasonic Open at the Camden Yards sports complex. Good Charlotte's song "Misery" (from its most recent album, Good Morning Revival) will also be the theme song for the tour's 2008 season.

The Action Sports Tour is a five-stop competition that features freestyle motocross, skateboard and BMX athletes who compete for championships in six categories at the end of the tour. In its fourth year, the tour first stopped in Baltimore last year, playing to large crowds and pleasing tour officials who have since said they intend to keep the city on its schedule of stops for the foreseeable future.

After Baltimore, the tour will head to Cleveland; Portland, Ore.; Salt Lake City, and Orlando.

Good Charlotte was founded in 1996 by twin brothers Joel (lead vocals) and Benji Madden (guitar/vocals). Paul Thomas (bass), Dean Butterworth (drums) and Billy Martin (guitar) now round out the group.

"There is nothing better than returning home to all of the fans that have been there since the beginning," Benji Madden said in a news release.
