AGC Washington to offer new health plan Sept. 1
Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Aug 12, 2004 by Justin Stranzl
Associated General Contractors of Washington will offer a new health plan to construction workers in Washington effective Sept. 1.
Thinc LLC, which has been running a prototype program for AGC's Oregon-Columbia Chapter, will administer, develop and manage the program.
Premera Blue Cross, which has a network of about 18,000 health care professionals across Washington, will be the medical insurer. Guardian Life will provide dental coverage and Vision Service Plan will provide vision coverage.
Participating employers will be able to enroll employees, make changes to accounts, view group bills and access an administrative guide on the Web, and employees will be able to look up the status of insurance claims online. The health plan will be administered via the AGC Web site.
AGC Washington member employers with five or more employees working in the construction industry or a related field are eligible for the insurance program.
