Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), May 6, 2005 by Justin Stranzl

A regional economist and the presidents of four Oregon companies will discuss green building at next month's Sustainable Industries Economic Forum.

John Mitchell, an economist who monitors the West for US Bancorp, will join John Drew of Far West Fibers Inc., Chuck Eggert of Pacific Foods, Allyn Ford of Roseburg Forest Products Co. and Judi Johansen of PacifiCorp on June 1 to discuss Oregon's sustainable industries.

Dave Williams, president and chief executive officer of ShoreBank Pacific, a Washington bank that is committed to environmentally sustainable community development, will moderate the panel discussion. He'll lead a question-and-answer session with the public following the forum discussion, which will focus on green building, recycling, organic foods and renewable energy in Oregon.

Mitchell, the economist, will precede the panel discussion with a speech offering a broad overview of Oregon's sustainable industries and their impact on the state's economy. He'll be introduced by Peggy Fowler, president and CEO of Portland General Electric.

The forum will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. June 1 in the Grand Ballroom of the Governor Hotel, 614 S.W. 11th Ave., in downtown Portland.
