Portland Pacesetters Briefs: November 27, 2006

DESIGN
Thomas Hacker Architects has hired: David Pex, Jamie Watson, Fujiko Shono, Nicholas Hemmer, Kristina Hauri, Tony Tranquilli, Erik Schroeder, Amanda Petretti and Ivy Miller.
Pex has been hired as Hacker's business manager. He brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and business management. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Oregon in 1981.
Watson, a LEED accredited professional, is currently working on the new Buchan Building for the historic First Unitarian Church in Portland. She received her Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1997.
Shono, a licensed architect with more than 20 years of experience including 13 years as a partner in her own firm, is currently assigned to the Montgomery Sales Center and Atwater Place. She received her Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 1987.
Hemmer, a LEED accredited professional, is currently assigned to the team working on the 1700 Building, a 16-story, 353-unit condominium building. Nicholas received his Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 2002.
Hauri, since coming to Hacker, has been working on the 1700 Building condominium project and the Montgomery sales center. She received her Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University in 2002.
Tranquilli, a LEED accredited professional, is the project architect for the Dant House and Humanities building remodel and addition for the Catlin Gabel School in Portland. He received his Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon in 2001.
Schroeder has been hired as a full-time architectural intern. He is currently assisting on the renovation and expansion of the University of California, Davis King Hall School of Law. He received his Master of Architecture in 2006 from the University of Oregon.
Petretti has joined Hacker as a part-time architectural intern. She is currently assisting on the Dant House and Humanities building renovation and addition remodel for Catlin Gabel School as well as Eugene city hall. She is currently working on her Master of Architecture at the University of Oregon.
Miller has been hired as a full-time office intern. She has been assisting on models for the 1700 building and College of Education for the University of Oregon. Miller graduated in June of 2006 with a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon.
