DESIGN
Ruffcorn Mott Hinthorne Stine has hired Patrick Donnelly, Daniel Brindisi and Fenita Soetiono as project architects; Sean O'Neill as an intern architect; and Barb Gipple as an administrative assistant. Irina Wong has earned LEED accreditation.
Harper Houf Peterson Righellis Inc. has hired Rodney Lamb and Mel Stout expanding the landscape architecture practice as a response to steady growth.
Lamb is a recent addition to HHPR's landscape architecture studio. He has more than 17 years of professional experience in landscape architecture, including project management and project development from conceptual design through construction documentation for both public and private commissions. A registered landscape architect in Oregon, he received his bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from California State Polytechnic University and is a LEED-accredited professional.
Stout leads HHPR's landscape architecture studio, having more than 30 years of experience in master planning, site planning and landscape design with particular focus on site planning for resorts, parks and development projects including trail systems and greenways. His 40-Mile Loop master plan received a national honor award in 1996 from the American Society of Landscape Architects and was cited as an "excellent example of a detailed plan" by Charles Little in his book, "Greenways for America."
He is a registered landscape architect in Oregon, Washington and California.
The Portland architectural firm of Thomas Hacker Architects has promoted three new associate principals and three new associates: Steve Simpson, David Keltner and Jane Barker, associate principals; and Sarah Hacker, Robin Wilcox and David Pex, associates.
Simpson joined THA in 1988 after receiving his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon.
Keltner joined THA in 1999. He is currently a project designer working on the 1700 Building mixed-used condominium project and the Mercy Corps headquarters project in Portland.
Barker has been promoted to associate principal. Since joining THA in 1999, she has been a key design member on educational, theatrical and library projects. Barker has a long-term commitment to sustainable design and incorporating LEED guidelines into every design project.
Hacker joined THA in 2001 and was promoted to marketing director in 2005. She is an active member of the Oregon chapter of the Society for Marketing Professional Services and has served on its education committee, branding committee and communications committee.
Wilcox joined THA in 1999 and has worked on some of THA's most high-profile projects including Atwater Place condominium, Alameda Free Library, Hollywood Library/The Bookmark, the LEED gold Lewis & Clark College Howard Hall and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival New Theatre.
Pex recently joined THA as business manager, bringing more than 20 years of experience in finance and business management, having been director of finance at two other Portland firms as well as an independent consultant for various businesses in Oregon. Pex received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Oregon in 1981.
ENGINEERING
Century West has hired two new engineers to its Bend office: Bryan Condon has been hired as a project engineer and Joanne Hughes has been hired as a project manager.
Condon graduated from Purdue University in 2005 with a degree in civil engineering.
Hughes has more than six years of experience and has served as project manager and engineer on several multi-million-dollar heavy civil construction projects.
LAW
Dunn Carney Allen Higgins & Tongue LLP has hired Kelly J. Martin and Sarah A. Badten from Willamette University College of Law and Sindy M. Maher from Lewis & Clark Law School as associates.
Martin will practice business and commercial law. Badten will practice commercial and civil litigation. Maher will practice real estate law. Martin, Badten and Maher were summer associates for Dunn Carney in 2005.
The Oregon Women Lawyers executive committee has elected Laura Caldera Taylor, an associate in Garvey Schubert Barer's Portland office, secretary.
Taylor has served as a board member of the Oregon Women Lawyers since 2005.
Taylor's practice focuses on intellectual property and business and commercial litigation. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Willamette University College of Law and her bachelor's in political science from California State University.
Katie C. Tank, a shareholder at regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, has been elected to the Bend Chamber of Commerce board of directors.
Tank received both her bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Oregon.
