Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco picks PGE's Peggy Fowler for

The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco board of directors on Tuesday said it appointed Portland General Electric CEO Peggy Fowler to its Portland Branch board.

Fowler joins six other directors on the Portland Branch board in providing the Federal Reserve with region- and industry-specific economic information The Fed uses the info when reaching monetary policy decisions. The other board members are Chairman James Rudd of Ferguson Wellman Capital Management, David Chen of OVP Venture Partners, Alan Johnson of Wells Fargo Bank, George Puentes of Don Pancho Authentic Mexican Foods, Robert Sznewajs of West Coast Bancorp and William D. Thorndike Jr. of Medford Fabrication.

Fowler has been president and CEO of PGE since 2000.
