ARCHITECTURE
Ankrom Moisan Associated Architects has promoted Dave Heater, Mike Cline and Jason Erdahl to managing principals and Kevin Sauser and Bob Carothers to principals.
Heater joined Ankrom Moisan in 1990 and has been a principal since 2004. He was project manager on the Hotel Lucia, the Westerly, Marshall Wells and Gregory Lofts. He opened Ankrom Moisan's Seattle office in 2006.
Cline has 21 years of experience with Ankrom Moisan. His early work at the firm included Skamania Lodge and the Willamette Oaks Building, home to the firm. Promoted to principal in 2003, he has shifted his emphasis to urban housing.
Erdahl graduated from the University of Idaho in 1995. With Ankrom Moisan for 11 years, he works on senior housing, multifamily housing, affordable and low income housing and historic renovation projects. As project manager he oversees developments for Pacific Retirement Services.
Sauser joined Ankrom Moisan in 1993 as an intern. He has an architecture degree from the University of Oregon. He has worked on senior housing for Grayco and Touchmark Living Centers.
Carothers joined Ankrom Moisan in 2003 and has more than 25 years of architectural and construction experience. He leads the firm's Quality Control/Spec Group.
LAW
Portland law firm Samuels Yoelin Kantor Seymour & Spinrad has named Timothy J. Resch a partner.
Resch holds a Juris Doctor from Lewis & Clark Law School and an undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon. He started at SYKS&S in 1996 as a law clerk. He became an associate in 1998 after serving as a special judicial clerk to Multnomah County Circuit Judge William Keys. Resch served as a special prosecutor with the Multnomah County district attorney, representing the state of Oregon in misdemeanor criminal trials. He has been providing counsel at SYKS&S on two separate occasions, from 1998 to 2000 and from 2004 to the present. In between, Resch spent four years as a legal officer with the Office of the Prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands. There, he was responsible for conducting in court direct examinations in international war crimes trials and traveled throughout Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia investigating violations of international humanitarian law. Resch is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington as well as the 9th Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
ENGINEERING
Tony Dickman of R&W Engineering has earned Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design accreditation.
Dickman is a registered professional engineer in Oregon and Washington with a bachelor's and master's in mechanical engineering from Washington State University. He has 20 years of engineering experience and was involved in developing low-cost fuel cells and hydrogen infrastructure technology.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Deca Architecture has hired Elizabeth Johnson and Kate Walsh.
Johnson has four years of interior design experience. She is LEED- certified. She has a Master of Interior Architecture degree from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University in Chicago. She is working on private clubs and museums.
Walsh, an office administrator has degrees in photography and art history from the University of Arizona and a professional background in writing and marketing.
MASS TRANSIT
TriMet has promoted Robert W. Hastings agency architect.
Hastings supervises all agency architectural design, land-use planning and urban design efforts. He is responsible for the design of various buildings, stations, platforms, transit centers, park and ride areas, pedestrian facilities and street improvements. Most recently a project architect, he spent the past seven years managing architectural urban design for TriMet capital projects including the Transit Mall and Interstate MAX. Prior to joining TriMet, he was an architect with Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Partnership for 12 years, five of which were devoted to providing architectural services for TriMet's light-rail projects. A past president of the Oregon and Portland American Institute of Architects chapters, Hastings was a co-creator of the AIA Oregon Design Conference. He has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon. He is a resident of Northeast Portland.
