Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Sep 14, 2007 by Report

Portland-based Columbia Forest Products said Wednesday it will shut down its Hearst particleboard plant indefinitely, effective Nov. 12.

Columbia Forest Products cited energy costs, low product prices, exchange rate issues, softening demand and market overcapacity as factors in the plant's closure. The facility employs about 83 workers.
