'Big Look' group ready to resume work in Oregon
Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Mar 18, 2008
The Big Look task force will spend the next nine months gathering information about Oregon's land-use planning laws, with the goal of having a list of recommendations on how to revamp the system ready for the 2009 Legislature.
The group's work slowed after the November passage of Measure 49, which amended a state property rights law that had been in place since 2004. At least one task force member told the Daily Journal of Commerce that the scale-back was also due to the group's budget being cut.
