Oregon's Siemens Power Generation appeals decision in wind turbine
Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Apr 8, 2008
Siemens Power Generation Inc. is appealing a more than $10,000 fine levied against it by the state's Occupational Safety and Health Division.
Oregon OSHA, in February, fined Siemens for safety violations that the agency determined led to the collapse of a wind turbine tower. One worker was killed and another injured in the collapse.
Siemens filed the appeal in disagreement with the agency's findings.
The company and Oregon OSHA are scheduled to meet April 16 to try to reach an agreement on the issue, according to the Associated Press.
