Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center eyes
Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Apr 29, 2008
Oregon State University's Hatfield Marine Science Center plans to add as many as four buildings to its 49-acre campus, depending on the availability of funding.
The four planned buildings include an education facility which would house the aquarium science program offered by the Oregon Coast Community College. A bond measure was passed in 2004 by Lincoln County to provide partial funds for the building, but full funding has not yet been matched by the state.
The Marine Mammal Institute and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife also want a new building at the center. The fourth building would create more research space at the center of Hatfield by moving its facility maintenance program to the edge of the campus.
