Eugene Toyota dealership is certified LEED gold
Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Aug 28, 2008
A new Eugene car dealership designed by gLAs Architects has been designated Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Kendall Toyota, located on Goodpasture Island Road, was built by Vik Construction of Eugene, which used recycled building materials for 10 to 20 percent of the building's finishes, including flooring and ceiling panels. The 59,000-square-foot dealership used 50 percent less water than a building of its size by using a rainwater capture system, high-efficiency plumbing fixtures and native plants that require less water in its landscaping. It also generates 30 percent of its energy using photovoltaic panels and an efficient heating and cooling system.
