Daily Journal of Commerce (Portland, OR), Sep 11, 2008 by Report

Salem architecture firm Arbuckle Costic Architects is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and held an open house at its offices Wednesday to mark the occasion. University of Oregon graduate Warren Carkin first set up his architecture practice in downtown Salem in 1958. Kim Arbuckle and Alan Costic then took over the firm when Carkin retired in 1989.

The company's notable projects include McKay High School, the first skybridge in downtown Salem, located between JCPenney and Nordstrom, Willamette Valley Vineyards, the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes stadium, the Riverfront Carousel and A.C. Gilbert's Discovery Village. The firm resides in the Farrar Building at 363 State St., in downtown Salem.
