Two join law firm of Williams Venker & Sanders LLC

John P. Lord has joined the law firm of Williams Venker & Sanders L.L.C. as of counsel, and Lalii A. Chin has joined as associate. Bringing 12 years of trial experience from his previous position at Union Pacific Railroad, Lord's primary practice will be in railroad, products liability and personal injury litigation. He successfully litigated personal injury, fatality and property damage cases filed against the company by employees and third parties in state and federal courts. While he was with Union Pacific, Lord also served as an adjunct professor of law at Saint Louis University. He taught a course in trial advocacy to third year law students. Prior to joining Union Pacific, Lord served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in St. Louis County for 14 years. He prosecuted high- profile criminal cases, including homicides, narcotics cases, white- collar crime and political corruption cases. During that time, Lord was appointed to serve as a special assistant attorney general, and he taught at a trial advocacy school for prosecuting attorneys at the University of Missouri School of Law. He has tried more than 75 jury trials to verdict. Lord began his career as a law clerk for all the circuit judges in St. Louis County. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1974 and his law degree from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1977.
Chin's primary practice will be in the defense of personal injury lawsuits, including products liability, toxic torts and insurance litigation. She holds an undergraduate degree from Creighton University and a law degree from the University of Hawaii-William S. Richardson School of Law in 2004. She is licensed to practice in the states of Missouri and Hawaii and is a member of The Missouri Bar and the Hawaii State Bar Association.
