Matthew A. Rosenberg has joined the Clayton-based law firm Blumenfeld, Kaplan & Sandweiss P.C. as a principal attorney. Rosenberg is a member of the firm's intellectual property, information technology and litigation practice groups. Rosenberg advises clients on a broad range of issues, including patent ability, selection of trademarks, domain name and e-commerce issues, and infringement of patents and trademarks.
He assists clients in obtaining patents for mechanical, electrical and computer- implemented inventions. In 2000, Rosenberg was the first attorney in the country to file a patent application using the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Electronic Filing System. He was also among the earliest adopters of the Trademark Electronic Application System and was a testing attorney for the Copyright Office Electronic Registration, Recordation and Deposit System, all of which significantly shorten processing time for patent, trademark and copyright applications, respectively. Rosenberg received his B.S.M.E. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1993 and his law degree in 1996 from Washington University. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and volunteers his time as a licensed police officer. Rosenberg is licensed to practice law in the state of Missouri and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the bar of several federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
