Obituary: Clayone O. Tuft

Clayone O. Tuft, 100, passed away Monday, March 31, 2003 at a care home in Nampa, after a long and rewarding life.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2003 at the Nampa 1st Ward Building (1500 Smith Ave. Nampa, ID 83651). Bishop Gary L. John will be officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 6- 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 9-9:45 a.m. at the church on Friday. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. at the Monroe Cemetery in Monroe, Utah. There will be a visitation at the Monroe 1st Ward Chapel from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5. Arrangements are under the direction of Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel (404 10th Ave. S., Nampa, Idaho 83651, office: 208-466-3545).

Clayone was born in Richfield, Utah, September 24, 1902 to Joseph and Fanny Gottfredson Orrock. She was the oldest of nine children. She married Lynn Tuft June 28, 1922 in the Manti Temple. They have two children, Wayne Tuft of Nampa, Idaho and Shirley Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah. Clayone and Lynn moved to Idaho in 1952. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She also was a member of the Nampa Lita study group. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, cooking, and reading.

She is preceded in death by her loving companion of 67 years, four sisters and two brothers. Clayone is survived by her two children, Wayne Tuft, and Shirley Johnson; her sister Maxine Lornsen and brother Scott

Orrock. Clayone is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 45 great- grand-children, and 46 great-great-grand-children.

The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Fund, in care of Bishop Gary L. John, 9060 Cherry Ln. Nampa, ID 83687.
