-- The Old Farmer's Almanac Gardeners' Companion lists its favorite "Itty Bitty Tomatoes" in the spring and summer edition. Local favorites in the listing include "Sweet Million," "Sun Gold," "Yellow Pear" and 10 other varieties. Try some.

Saturday, May 17: Rhubarb Festival, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 500 W. Main, Mount Pleasant; heritage craft demonstrations, ugly truck parade, soap-box derby, turkey trot, lamb-dressing contest, rhubarb pie contest and pie-eating contest.
Saturday, May 24: The Utah Native Plant Society is hosting a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the REI parking lot, 3285 E. 3300 South.
Saturday, May 31: Red Butte Gardens will host a tour of native gardens of the Salt Lake Valley from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $34 for members, $38 for nonmembers. Call 581-7230 for reservations.
